FHDDS Approved Fulfilment for Overseas Sellers

UK storage and fulfilment for brands based outside the UK

TDW Logistics is an HMRC Approved Fulfilment Centre under the Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme (FHDDS). If your business is based outside the UK and you want to hold stock here to sell to UK customers, we can store it, fulfil your orders and handle your returns.

What FHDDS is

HMRC introduced the Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme to reduce VAT evasion by overseas sellers storing goods in the UK. A UK business must be approved under the scheme if it stores goods that were imported from outside the UK, are owned by or stored for someone established outside the UK, and are offered for sale in the UK for the first time.

Why it matters to you

Trading as a fulfilment business without approval is a criminal offence, and goods held by an unapproved business can be seized. Checking that your UK fulfilment house is approved protects your stock.

What we will ask you for

As an approved fulfilment house we must check each overseas customer's VAT registration number with HMRC and keep records of the goods we hold, including their import entry references. We will ask for these details when you open your account.

UK fulfilment for overseas brands

HMRC approved

We are approved under FHDDS and listed on HMRC's register of approved fulfilment businesses. Ask us for our registration number before you send stock.

Receiving imported stock

Once your goods have cleared customs, we receive them into stock, count them and check them against your paperwork.

Ecommerce fulfilment

Orders from your online store or marketplaces are picked, packed and sent to UK customers with tracked delivery.

UK returns address

UK customers return items to our warehouse rather than overseas. Resellable stock goes back on sale and anything damaged is held for your decision.

Wholesale and retailer orders

We can also fulfil orders to UK retailers and wholesale customers from the same stock.

Records and visibility

We keep the records the scheme requires, and you can see your stock and orders at any time in our online portal.

Before you send stock

  • Your UK VAT registration number (or VAT exemption number)
  • Your business name, address and contact details
  • Details of the goods you plan to store
  • Import entry references (MRNs) for each shipment
  • A freight forwarder or customs agent to clear goods into the UK
  • Your sales channels and expected order volumes
